Founder and Author
Ellis Cooke is the founder and author of Iron Door Saloon, a blog dedicated to cooking for one. She’s also an avid cook who loves new recipes, kitchen gadgets and sharing her love of food on social media.
As a child, she was always in the kitchen with her mother or grandmother cooking up something fresh and delicious. She learned to enjoy eating by tasting everything that went into it!
After graduating from college with degrees in English Literature & Spanish Studies, Ellis moved to Paris where she worked as an au pair and traveled extensively throughout Europe until settling back home in New York City.

Walter Gallagher is the editor in chief and lead recipe developer at Iron Door Saloon. He’s passionate about helping people create a healthy, flavorful life for themselves with easy-to-follow recipes, smart food swaps, and new cooking techniques.
He was born on a dairy farm in rural upstate New York but has called Michigan home since he was 3 years old. He grew up working alongside his parents on their small family farm where they raised cows and pigs from birth to slaughter. Since then, Walter has worked as a chef at acclaimed restaurants like Blue Hill at Stone Barns in New York’s Hudson Valley; Lark Creek Inn near San Francisco; and The Farmstead Restaurant & Bar near Cincinnati.
Donny Morgan is a tech-savvy individual who has an insatiable appetite for electronics. He loves to find new gadgets and always updates his technology, no matter how old it may be. Donny also enjoys writing about the latest trends in the industry, as well as other insights on technology.
